Basic Skills

1. Assemble, test and fit scuba equipment then complete buddy check.
2. Enter water at shallow end and demonstrate correct breathing method.
3. At shallow end, demonstrate correct buoyancy control by respiration (fin pivot).
4. In shallow water remove and refit mask three times.
5. In shallow water, remove mouthpiece and replace 3 times, clearing by exhalation then three times more by clearing using purge button.
6. On Bottom of pool, remove regulator from mouth, let go free then recover.
7. From shallow end, fin 100 meters with correct finning action.
8. Fin 50 meters on surface, breathing through snorkel but wearing full scuba.
9. Exit shallow end of pool, disassemble scuba equipment and wash with fresh water.
