Diving with a purpose...Two Thirds Blue Sub-Aqua Club have adopted the wreck of the Louis Sheid under the scheme run by the Nautical Archaeology Society. The 'Louis' was a Belgian grain steamer that ran ashore on Leas Foot Beach, Devon, in December 1939. She currently lies at a depth of 10m and is visited by the club at least once a month. The site is ideal for novices as it can be dived in any state of the tide, so long as the wind is in the right direction. It is a fantastic wreck to photogragh as there is good light and a diverse marine life live in and around her. If you dive this wreck and would like to contribute to this site by submitting articles, reports and images, please contact us, we would love to hear from you. |
